Italian Meat Pie

This recipe is delicious served hot or cold. It only takes 10 minutes to prepare and less than 1 hour to bake. The good thing is that this recipe may also be cooked using the microwave. It only takes about 15 minutes to cook in the microwave. This recipe will serve 8 people and it will surely please the hungy family or anxious crowd. An excellent dish for serving guests. It will store easily in the fridge and may be reaheated in the microwave. It has a high nutritional value as it contains protein, calcium, iron, and vitamin A. This dish is great for serving with hot garlic bread.Ingredients:

2 pounds of ground beef

3 tablespoons of water

2 teaspoons of Italian seasoning

1 teaspoon of salt

1 cup of Parmeasean cheese

1 celery stalk, sliced

1 shallot, sliced

2 eggs

1/2 cup of milk

1./2 cup of Italian seasoned bread crumbs

1 cucumber, sliced

1 tomato, wedged

Directions:

1. Mix together the ground beef, bread crumbs, water, Italian seasoning and salt, mix until well combined.

2. In a 10 inch pie plate, mash firmly to form a crust, save 1 cup of the meat mixture a side in a bowl.

3. Bake at 350 degrees F for 15 minutes.

4. Remove from the oven and drain the grease.

5. Sprinkle the cheese, celery, and onion, over the meat crust.

6. Beat the eggs and milk well and pour over the cheese, celery, and onion.

7. In a small saucepan, fry the cup of ground beef in little pieces. Drain fat.

8. Place the little pieces of ground beef on top.

9. Bake at 350 degrees F for 30 minutes. Remove from the oven and garnish with the sliced cucumbers and wedged tomatoes.

10. Serve hot and enjoy!

How to Microwave Italian Beef Pie

Ingredients are the same as the conventional oven method.

Directions:

1. In a large mixing bowl, mix together the ground beef, bread crumbs, water, Italian seasoning, and the salt until well combined.

2. In a microwave safe pie plate, press the meat fimly in the pie plate to form a crust.

3. Cover with a paper towel and microwave on medium for 5 minutes.

4. Drain the grease. Sprinkle the cheese, celery, and onion on the bottom of the meat crust.

5. Mix the eggs and milk well and pour into the meat crust.

6. Microwave on high uncovered for 6 minutes.

7. Let cool for 5 minutes and sprinkle with extra cheese and parsley and microawave for 3 minutes more.

8. Serve hot garnished with the cucumber slices and the tomato wedges.
