Hundreds of people came out Tuesday evening to participate in St. Joseph’s Church's Lenten Soup Supper. Pastor Sean Gann opened the gathering which took place in Travis Hall with a prayer. Volunteers from several parish groups such as the Knights of Columbus, Catholic Daughters, Ancient Order of Hibernians and the Sons of Italy helped to serve, host and prepare the more than 40 different homemade soups and breads, desserts and drinks.

Some of the soups on the menu were potato leek, lobster bisque, sausage gumbo, tomato basil and sweet potato vegetable. According to parishioner John Gallagher, “everything was plentiful and delicious.”Guests were asked to donate all or part of the expense of a normal evening meal to the St. Vincent DePaul Society.
