If you are a resident of Metro Moncton this winter you needed something to warm and cheer you and more than 700 people found warmth and good cheer as they participated in Support to Single Parents Inc. 6th Annual Soup Fest.
Many folks experienced Moncton's finest restaurants' soups and told us that the event really hit the spot after coping with mountains of snow and cold weather. Our agency is thankful to all the great restaurants who participated and donated their time and their wonderful soups, to the City of Moncton for Festival Place, to the local media, Sharon Melanson, our volunteer co-ordinator, all our volunteers, the Pioneers and the Outlon College cadets; vendors at Reads, Investors Group and other sponsors.
And most of all a special thanks to all who showed up for Soup Fest. A total of $8,430 was raised which will be utilized for our programs and services to single parents and their families in southeastern New Brunswick. We plan to do it again next year so if you have any thoughts or comments about the soup fest, please send them my way.
